Hinckley Amateurs Three wins out of Three!!
Hinckley Amateur make it three wins on the bounce as they chase down 198 set by the visiting Billesdon. Amateurs lost the toss and were asked to bowl on one of the hottest days of the year so far. Matt Lester and Lee Rastall bowled good lines and at the drinks break Billesdon were 56 for 3. Lester 1 for 33 off 10 and Rastall 2 for 23 off 11. Mike Snow and Dave Grove joined the attack and restricted the Billesdon middle order from scoring too quickly. Snow finishing with 3 for 68 off 13 and Grove 2 for 35 off 7 overs. A fine middle order performance from Miles for 70 saw Billesdon finish 198 for 8 off their 45 overs.
Amateurs started with the early fall again of Skipper James Lester but the in form Stuart Bailey and Lee Martin steadied the innings. They had no trouble keeping the run rate ticking over. Bailey fell for 21 and bringing Kendrick to the crease the run rate increased. Martin was bowled shortly after for a fine innings of 30. The inform Dave Grove and Kendrick pushed the runs, with 10 overs remaining 42 was the target. Kendrick was the next to fall, caught for an excellent half century and finishing with a score of 60. Grove with a useful 30 also caught saw Paul Ensor with Simon Woodward complete the Amateurs victory with 4 overs to spare. 29 and 13 not out respectively. Another superb all round team performance.
